Treatment Advances, Relational Issues, and Mindfulness in Integrated Trauma Therapy

John Briere, PhD

bri07Those familiar with Dr. Briere’s work know him to combine compassion and sensitivity with the newest information on empirically and phenomenologically-informed treatment approaches to psychological trauma. Based on his latest book, Principles of Trauma Therapy(2006),
co-authored with Catherine Scott,MD, this new workshop provides cutting-edge,directly-applicable information on the integration of cognitive-behavioral, attachment, relational, and physiological approaches

This workshop presents new material that formally integrates Buddhist philosophy and empirically-based mindfulness approaches with effective trauma treatment. Also included is new information on interview based assessment, cross-cultural issues, psychosis, stress reduction training, clinician “counter-activation,” and the neurobiology and psychopharmacology of trauma.
